Basic Purpose and Objective Drill Operator operates drill machines for the manufacture of all types of fasteners. Specific Duties and Responsibilities ·        Operates up to two drill machines to produce machined parts according to blueprints, specifications and/or special instructions. ·        Starts and operates machine operation to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls and machine as required. ·        Operates machine on trial run to check accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. ·        Checks parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers and gauges and perform SPC ·        Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools. Discrepancies are reported to department lead and/or supervisor for assistance. ·        Identifies, disassembles, and determines corrective action required to repair work or broken parts. ·        Checks tooling and reworks as needed to keep machine running. ·        Lays out parts for successive and continuous machining operations.·        Must be able to troubleshoot cutters and fingers.
